LIDL TO CELEBRATE GRAND OPENING OF NEW STORE IN HYATTSVILLE ON VALENTINE’S DAY

ARLINGTON, VA – Lidl US, leading international grocer, will open its newest store on Wednesday, February 14 in Prince George’s County, Maryland. The store is located at 3104 Queens Chapel Road in Hyattsville in the Shops at Queens Chillum. Local leaders will welcome Lidl to the community at a ribbon cutting event starting at 7:30 a.m., which will be followed by a grand opening celebration featuring special offers for shoppers. The store will operate daily from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The new location is part of Lidl’s growing store network in the Washington metropolitan area. Other nearby Lidl stores in Maryland include locations in Bowie, Lanham, College Park, District Heights, Takoma Park, Wheaton, Columbia, Montgomery Village and more.

This Lidl store will create approximately 40 new jobs. A 2024 Top Employer, Lidl provides comprehensive benefits, including healthcare for all full-and-part-time positions, regardless of hours worked per week. Starting pay for all store associates will be $16 per hour.

Grand Opening Celebration Details 

At the grand opening event, the first 100 customers in line before the store opens at 8:00 a.m. will receive a special gift card ranging from $5 to $100 each. Shoppers can also sample Lidl’s award-winning assortment and take advantage of special giveaways.

As part of its commitment to support the community, Lidl will make a donation to the Capital Area Food Bank, which aids families in the Washington metro area, including Prince George’s and Montgomery counties. Lidl will donate $1 to the organization for each shopper who signs up for the myLidl app and sets the Hyattsville as their store throughout opening weekend.
